Frazier History Museum offers a program called “First Fridays” in which homeschoolers and their caregiver can participate in a history program on the 1st Friday of every month. The Kentucky Science Center offers a program called the Home school Stem Series for Grades K-12. “Come to the Science Center for some hands-on STEM education that you just can’t get in your unique classroom. Nine different STEM sessions will be offered throughout the school year. Each session will include an interactive session in a lab or classroom space at the Science Center as well as a topic related exhibit challenge to encourage families to learn together. (Operating as Louisville Creative Arts Academy) The Louisville Drama Project The Louisville Drama Project is all about opportunity. The opportunity for middle and high home-school students (6th – 12th grade) to discover their unique gifts and abilities in the theater arts. Students will gain insight into various aspects of musical theater from vocal performance and choreography to a full stage production. Features: • Professional vocal coaching • Choreography, make-up, set building workshops with trained instructors • Student production experience grounded in a foundation of faith • Affordable prices for valuable theater experience Two 16-week semesters • The fall semester will be spent developing the foundational pieces of musical theater, culminating with a dinner theater where each student performs. • The spring semester focuses fully on a full length musical production, performed at the end of the semester. (Defunct) The Louisville Nature Center is offering a special homeschool class for young naturalists designed for 5-9 year olds. Through hands-on experiences, stories, arts and crafts and a guided hike through the woods, your child will experience and learn about the natural world. The 2 hour long classes are theme based.
Young Naturalists – a 2 hour class for 5-9 year olds (caregivers are encouraged to stay with younger children) will meet the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month, beginning September 13th from 1:30-3:30pm. Cost is $20/month/child (this includes 2 classes a month). If your family has more than 2 children attending, the third child is discounted to $10/month, additional children are free of charge. (Defunct) Spot 5 Art Center is offering Elementary classes is on Monday from 10:30- 12:00pm. The cost of class is $165 for six weeks with materials included.
