Cottage Schools offer an assortment of classes to homeschoolers and can be an extension of a private school. Their classes are usually taught by certified teachers and tend to be more expensive than co-ops, but require minimal parental involvement.  Cottage programs offer a variety of classes ranging from intense core subjects to fun electives.

Wildflowers Academy is an inclusive, secular cottage school program that is dedicated to providing homeschooled children the opportunity to participate in fun, educational classes with peers of the same age range.

Christian Educational Consortium

The Christian Educational Consortium provides a blended education for older home schooled students, grades 6-12, giving them an opportunity to attend traditional academic classes in a Christian setting. Established for families who value Christian character and collegiate style academics, CEC helps to prepare young adults to glorify God through their lives.  The Consortium meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Indiana Wesleyan University – Louisville Education Center 1500 Alliant Avenue, Louisville, Ky 40299.  A statement of Christian faith is required.

Cornerstone Classical School

Cornerstone Classical School is a cottage school in Southern Indiana that exists to serve Christian homeschooling families by offering tutorial services. Classes meet once weekly for students in Kindergarten through High School. Our comprehensive course selections and program choices are designed to fit into your homeschool schedule.

Meeting Dates:

Educare Christian Cottage School

The word “education” is derived from the Latin root “educare” which means to feed and nourish. With this mindset as our focus, the teachers will incorporate hands-on, interactive, higher level thinking activities. All of the classes will encourage the students to question, contemplate, and create solutions. Classes for kindergarten – 12th grade will meet on Fridays for a total of 28 weeks during the school year at Campbellsville University Louisville Education Center, 2300 Greene Way, Louisville, Kentucky 40220. The 28-week session offers studies in art, science, Spanish, and writing/language. All classes are taught by experienced teachers. Parents are not required to remain on campus or teach.  Payment plans are available!  A statement of Christian faith is required.

Highlands Latin School 

Highlands Latin School is a Christian, classical school that has a dedicated homeschool cottage program for grades 3-10. Your student will take classes with other homeschooled students. The cottage school is located at the Highlands Latin School’s Spring Meadows campus, 10901 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40243.  It offers a one-day program for homeschoolers. Classes are held on Monday and are taught by instructors from Highlands Latin School.  All of the instruction is provided in the classroom with parents providing homework and individual assistance throughout the week. We believe a one-day cottage school is a wonderful way to introduce classical education into a homeschooling curriculum.  Their schedule can be found at http://www.thelatinschool.org/aboutus/hlscottage/.  Christian education, but a statement of Christian faith is not required

Jubilee Academy 

We believe that children need an individualized education, but that much good learning takes place in a group setting as well. Our program includes a blend of the best of progressive education with the best of traditional education. Students are taught a concept and then given a task to complete that will require the use of that concept. Some work is completed in groups, some independently, and some in a small group or one-on-one with a teacher. Students experience small group tasks, individual conferring time with a teacher, group discovery/inquiry based learning (teacher-facilitated), and independent work time. We want students to be excited about learning, and we want them to experience the proper guidance and instruction to make them successful. We don’t use many worksheets, though we do use them if they are meaningful to facilitate or organize learning. We do not use textbooks as a general rule. We prefer using real books and real life to teach whenever feasible. There is no statement of faith requirement for families and students who attend Jubilee Academy. Families sign a statement that they understand and support the doctrinal position of Jubilee Academy and its staff. Because we have students from a variety of faith backgrounds, and some students who have no faith background, we need to be respectful of them. While we will never compromise on Biblical teaching, we also are not to ridicule or put down other faiths or denominations, and we are not to allow students to do so either.

Louisville Classical Academy

Louisville Classical Academy is a secular, classical school located in the Highlands.  The part-time option at Louisville Classical Academy is designed for students in grades 3-12 who wish to enroll in one or more, but not all, of the classes offered through the four-day, full-curriulum program. Students taking less than the full-curriculum and homeschool students may enroll in individual classes and electives on a space-available basis at the same per-class tuition as five-day and four-day, full-curriculum students.  The application for part-time students and full-curriculum students is the same. The half- or full-day Monday program, electives, extracurricular activities, clubs, community functions and events, and other school programs are open to part-time students.

New Song Christian Academy

Sons & Daughters Enrichment Program

Sons & Daughters is a Christian based home school drop off program located at Hursbourne Christian Church 601 Nottingham Pkwy Louisville, KY 40222 . The mission of S&D is to provide home schooled children with a program that allows them to interact with other children, receive direction from adults other than their parents, and learn in the process. We are also here to allow parents a short time without their children to recharge and prepare for the next week. Families choose specific classes they are interested in and pay tuition for this drop-off program. Tuition is $85 per semester plus supply fees for 10 week classes. Alternative Education Program is our homeschool partnership program.  Whitefield Academy understands that families with homeschool students have unique needs. Our desire is to partner with parents in providing the best education opportunities for their students. Our Alternative Education Program offers homeschooling families a structured in-school environment to help parents maximize the benefits of a homeschool education.  World Class Academy  

World Class Academy meets September – November and January – April on Fridays at My Gym Children’s Fitness Center in Middletown. Classes begin at 10:30, lunch is at 12:15 and the afternoon class begins at 12:45 with dismissal at 2:15.

Heart Academy (ended 2014)

Heart Academy Classes start the Wednesday after Labor Day week. Do you need to fit in an additional class to complete credits? Or, do you just want your homeschooled child to have a “classroom” experience with other children? Heart academy offers classes in a relaxed, supportive approach, so that learning can be fun and rewarding. If you want to meet the teachers and find out more information, join us for Heart Academy’s Open House and Registration! Pastor Dave Heigl and his wife, Pam, have been offering home school enrichment classes at Heart Academy for many years. Class sizes are small, and all the teachers have years of experience with homeschoolers. We try to make learning fun and hands on, while enriching and enhancing your home school teachings. Classes are geared toward a range of ages, rather than specific grades, so you can decide where you think your student would fit in best, based on maturity and learning level. We offer classes for students from Kindergarten up to 12th grade. Classes are on Wednesdays, with the earliest classes beginning at 10:00 AM and the latest ending at 2:30. A statement of Christian faith is required.
