FRHS

A homeschool co-op is a Cooperative of like-minded homeschoolers that collectively provide resources to a co-op group.  The purpose of a co-op is to provide a greater educational benefit to the participating families and students than can be achieved as a single family unit or individual student. In order to succeed, all members must participate at the level required by each co-op. The coordinators do not provide the co-op without the members; they merely facilitate the organizing of the co-op . Co-ops generally offer parent-led classes. Most co-ops require the parents to participate in some fashion (teaching, assisting, watching younger children, etc.), and charge a minimal fee (ie. $25-$100 per semester) to participate.

The following co-ops are arranged alphabetically:

Free Range Young Schoolers Co-op meets every Tuesday (except for holidays) starting at 10am. Tuesday mornings are filled with a dance movement class, story time, a mini lesson and craft on the day’s theme. The class generally runs until 11:15; however, we do not follow a strict time schedule, but go with the flow. Parents take turns planning the mini lesson and craft and we attempt to go on one field trip a month. There is no fee for the co-op, but you are asked to bring you own supplies for the craft project. This group welcomes everyone from different backgrounds and walks of life. Marissa Wood is the co-op coordinator and can be found on Facebook or you can email her at riss.wood@gmail.com.  Find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/homeschoolingpreschoolsinlouisville
