Instruments include flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion (snare and xylophone).*
Band is open to students grades 5th and up who wish to learn to play a musical instrument. In the first class, we will explore types of band instruments, and students will be fitted to an instrument of their choosing. Once students have selected their instrument, we will learn the basics of music-making on that particular instrument, with respect to individual and ensemble playing, as well as care and maintenance of the instrument. Students will learn to play the “greatest hits” of beginning band (familiar and folk songs), as well as more advanced pieces in two or more parts in the ensemble.
Cantares Traditional Choir is a traditional, classical chorus comprised of students from Covenant Classical Academy and home-schooled students from the broader Louisville area. If your child, grades 7-12, is interested in singing a varied and challenging repertoire, we invite you to join us for the upcoming school year. Open auditions are currently being held. Kentuckiana Christian Homeschool Band meets at First Southern Baptist Church Clarksville (215 E. Ettels Lane, Clarksville, In). Classes are on Wednesdays; Beginners Class is at 10am, Intermediate at 11am, and Advanced at 12pm. Cost is $9.00 per week per child. If you miss you still owe for class, unless there are extreme circumstances. Parents are welcome to come and play in the band.
